Warranty support.

Warranty protection covers qualifying product defects separately from our standard 30-day return policy.

Warranty and returns are different

The end of the 30-day return period does not automatically end warranty coverage. A covered defect can be handled under the applicable warranty for the remainder of its warranty term.

Warranty coverage

New products sold by Electronics Shop include at least the warranty period stated on their individual product page.

Warranty coverage applies to defects that arise during normal use, subject to the exclusions described below.

Depending on the brand and product, a claim may be administered directly through Electronics Shop or through an authorised manufacturer service network.

Typical warranty periods

Category Standard store warranty
Laptops and tablets 24 months
Phones 24 months
Televisions and monitors 24 months
Headphones and audio products 24 months
Coffee machines 24 months
Robot vacuums 24 months
Chargers and USB-C docks 24 months
Game controllers 24 months
Cables 12 months
Batteries sold separately 12 months

Where an individual product page specifies a longer warranty period, the longer stated period applies.

Additional manufacturer protection may also exist independently of the standard store warranty described here.

What is normally covered

  • Electrical or electronic failure not caused by external damage.
  • Failure of a charging port during normal use.
  • Display faults such as persistent vertical or horizontal lines where no impact damage is present.
  • Internal component failure.
  • Failure of buttons, switches or controls through ordinary use.
  • Premature motor, pump or heating-system failure in appliances.
  • Charging hardware failure where no physical damage is evident.
  • Battery failure caused by an actual defect rather than expected long-term capacity degradation.
Example

If an LG OLED evo C5 develops a permanent vertical panel line after 16 months and there is no evidence of impact, liquid damage or unauthorised modification, the fault would normally be eligible for warranty assessment.

What is not normally covered

  • Accidental drops, cracked displays or impact damage.
  • Liquid damage unless the product is specifically designed and rated for the circumstances involved.
  • Damage caused by incorrect voltage or an unsuitable power supply.
  • Unauthorised hardware modification.
  • Damage resulting directly from an unauthorised repair.
  • Cosmetic scratches or dents that do not affect operation.
  • Expected battery-capacity degradation through normal ageing.
  • Consumable parts that have reached the end of their expected life.

Third-party accessories

Using a compatible third-party charger, cable, filter or other accessory does not automatically cancel warranty coverage for the entire product.

However, damage directly caused by an unsuitable, incompatible or defective third-party accessory is not covered.

Example

Using a compatible third-party water filter with a De'Longhi Rivelia does not by itself cancel warranty coverage. Damage shown to have been caused by an incompatible filter would not normally be covered.

Chargers and USB-C devices

Using a third-party USB-C charger with a compatible laptop, tablet or phone does not automatically void the product warranty.

Damage caused by a defective or electrically unsuitable charger, however, can be excluded from coverage.

Making a warranty claim

To begin a warranty claim, contact support and provide:

  • Your order number or another accepted proof of purchase.
  • The exact product and model.
  • A clear description of the problem.
  • Details of when the problem started.
  • Photos or video where they can reasonably demonstrate the issue.

Support may ask you to complete reasonable troubleshooting steps before the product is returned.

This is particularly common for computers, phones, televisions, networking products, headphones and smart-home devices where software or configuration can sometimes cause symptoms that resemble hardware failure.

Original packaging

Original retail packaging is not normally required to make a warranty claim.

If a product has to be transported, however, it must be packed securely enough to protect it during transit.

Large televisions

Customers without the original television carton should tell support before shipping anything. A specialist collection or suitable transport packaging may be arranged instead.

Repair, replacement and resolution

Depending on the product, the type of fault, product age and replacement availability, an accepted claim may result in:

  • Repair of the existing product.
  • Replacement with the same model.
  • Replacement with a reasonably equivalent model when the original is no longer available.
  • Refund or store credit where repair or replacement is not reasonable.

Replacement warranty period

A replacement product receives the greater of:

  • the remaining warranty period from the original purchase; or
  • 90 days from the date the replacement is supplied.

Typical repair time

Many repairs are completed within 7–14 business days after the service centre receives the product.

Complex faults, specialist products or unavailable replacement parts can extend that period.

Personal data

Where practical, phones, laptops and other data-bearing devices should be backed up before warranty service.

Repair or replacement may require the device to be erased.

Accessories, batteries and consumable parts

Accessories supplied in the product box are normally covered where the accessory itself develops a manufacturing defect.

Normal wear of removable cables, ear pads, brushes, filters, mop pads and other wear components is not automatically a warranty defect.

Batteries

Rechargeable batteries naturally lose some maximum capacity as they age and accumulate charging cycles.

Gradual capacity loss alone is therefore different from an abnormal battery fault such as sudden failure, inability to charge or substantial unexpected degradation.

You are outside the standard 30-day return period, but the return period and warranty period are separate. A qualifying television fault can still be assessed under the applicable warranty.
Yes. Original retail packaging is not normally required for a warranty claim. If the product needs transport, it must still be packaged safely.
No. Using a compatible third-party charger does not automatically cancel the entire laptop warranty. Damage directly caused by an unsuitable or defective charger may be excluded.
Not normally. Rechargeable batteries gradually lose maximum capacity through ordinary ageing and charging cycles. Abnormal or premature battery failure can still qualify for assessment.
Yes. Reasonable troubleshooting may be requested when software, configuration, connectivity or another correctable issue could explain the reported problem.
